Privacy Policy
Northforge ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal information you submit through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you complete our eligibility check, contact form, or correspond with us by email, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, work email address, company name, company website, role, and a description of your innovation project (technology area, stage, intended funding route and project scope).
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) for security, fraud prevention and aggregated analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
We process the information you submit to respond to your enquiry, assess whether your project is likely to fit UK or European innovation funding, send the funding guidance or proposal you have asked for, and follow up about a potential engagement. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in providing the advisory service you have requested, and, where we send you marketing communications, your consent (which you can withdraw at any time).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with vetted processors that help us operate the service — for example our managed cloud database and email delivery providers — under data-processing agreements that require equivalent UK GDPR protections. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
International transfers
Some of our processors are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally we rely on the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent UK government-approved transfer mechanism.
How long we keep it
Eligibility-check and contact submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the last contact, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Engagement records are kept for the duration of the engagement plus 7 years for tax and contractual purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@northforge.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the site (session, security and load balancing) and basic privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies.
